Offenses to the Body

Straight Lead (Jab) to the Body (B1)

-use a duck/lower level change to Set-Up the Left Jab (1)

-Initiate the Jab to the Body’s movement by pushing forward from the back leg, driving through the target.

-the Impact can be anywhere on the scoring target from the neck to the blet line

-the Follow-Through is wrist deep like a battering ram through the body, setting up for another punch

-the Purpose of the Jab to the Body is to get yourself into offensive range, set up other point scoring punches, and to keep your opponent off balance 


Straight Rear Hand to the Body (B2)

-use a duck/lower level change to Set-Up the Straight Right to the Body (B2)

-Initiate the Straight Right Body Shot’s movement by pulling left elbow hard to the body and shifting 60% of your weight from the back leg to the front leg

-Impact is at any point on the front of the scoring target between the neck and belt line

-For a full Follow-Through, point the right toe to 12 o’clock, turning hips, penetrating wrist deep through the target, palm down, striking with the knuckles


Lead Hook to the Body (B3)

-Use a duck/downward level change Set-Up the Left Hook to the body (B3)

-Initiate the Hook’s movement by pulling right elbow hard to your body and shifting 60% of your weight from the front leg to the back leg

-Impact is at any point in the ribs/torso

-For a full Follow-Through, point the left toe to 3 o’clock, penetrating elbow deep through the target, thumb up


Rear Uppercut to the Body (B4)

-use a Slip Right to Set-Up the Right Uppercut to the Body (B4)

-Initiate the Uppercut’s movement by pulling the left elbow hard to your body, shifting 60% of your weight from the back leg to the front leg, as you lift up in the hips

-Impact happens with the knuckles deep into ribs/solar plexus

-for a full Follow-Through, point the right toe at the target/12o’clock, penetrating elbow deep through the target, with your right palm facing you


Lead Uppercut to the Body (B5)

-use a Slip Left to Set-Up the Left Uppercut to the Body (B5)

-Initiate the Uppercut’s movement by pulling the right elbow hard to your body and extending UP through your lead leg

-Impact happens with the knuckles deep into the ribs/solar plexus

-for a full Follow-Through, extend the leg and open the hips, penetrating elbow deep through the target, with your left palm facing you


Rear Hook to the Body (B6)

-Use a duck/downward level change Set-Up the Right Hook to the body (B6)

-Initiate the Hook’s movement by pulling left elbow hard to your body and shifting 60% of your weight from the back leg to the front leg

-Impact is at any point in the ribs/torso

-For a full Follow-Through, point the left toe to 12 o’clock, penetrating elbow deep through the target, thumb up
